The Inklings, JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis

£140 per group

Home to the first University in the English-speaking world, Oxford offers a treasure trove of history, art, architecture, literature, intellectual/scientific achievement, fierce Town and Gown rivalries, religious disputes, kings and queens and much else besides. A unique, magical place to explore in our company.

Your guide is a recognised expert in all things ‘Inkling’ and the tour can take in the many sites and stories associated with this eclectic group of friends, including associated colleges, the University Church of St Mary, Divinity School, Narnia Doorway, East Gate Hotel, and the Eagle and Child.  Your tour focuses not only on C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien but also on some of the other Inklings such as Owen Barfield and the man who was a great influence on Lewis, Charles Williams.
