Hi! I’m Chris, and welcome to Tours of Oxford. I have known Oxford for over thirty years, including a spell at the University, where I hold a MSc in English Local History from Kellogg College.
Ten years ago, after many adventures living in Africa and elsewhere, I came back with my family to live in Oxford once more and decided to pursue my love of history and fascination with Oxford by becoming an Oxford tour guide, learning my trade working freelance with local companies. It proved fun. I like meeting people and sharing their enjoyment exploring with me this unique, beguiling, often magical, place that is my home. In 2017, I set up Tours of Oxford, and won a European Luxury Travel Guide Award for Bespoke Tour Operator, offering 5 Star TA rated private walking tours.
We operate 7 days a week. We close Christmas Eve 24th December through to 2nd January.
All the guides who work with me are internationally acclaimed for their fun, informative, and informal, private walking tours of Oxford; sharing with you our expertise, enthusiasm, and deep personal affection for the City and University. We do not read from a script or fire facts and figures at you. We love interaction, opinion and conversation.
